It starts with the word "the"

Tuning the model is somebody else's job. This one tunes the harness.

ECC calls itself the agent harness performance optimization system. The definite article claims a category, and the only way a repo earns one is by naming what sits inside it. This page lists the five parts and stops there.

Harness is the unusual noun

Most tooling in this space optimizes prompts or models. Putting the harness in the product name says the bottleneck is the scaffolding around the model.

Instincts is the odd part

Skills, memory, and security are familiar boxes. Instincts is the one that needs a definition, and the description does not give it one.

What is not on this page

No latency figure, no token saving, no before and after run, no definition of performance. The trending description publishes none of it.

Concept mock, not affiliated with the project. The GitHub Trending description on 31 August 2026 reads "The agent harness performance optimization system. Skills, instincts, memory, security, and research-first development for Claude Code, Codex, Opencode, Cursor and beyond." The five slots and four client cells are those names in the order given. The fifth client cell is greyed because "and beyond" names no product. No measurement of optimization is represented here.
